MGS Supports Vulnerable Communities During The COVID-19 Pandemic

The global outbreak of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) has affected more than 212 countries. The situation is, particularly, grim in India, where an emergency lockdown has brought life to a screeching halt for many, especially the daily wage earners and the poor. While the lockdown brings safety, it also brings hunger! While most of us are safely confined to our homes with adequate food supplies, the underprivileged do not have access to even the basic necessities. The needs of our communities are evolving on a daily basis. In response to the spread of COVID-19 in India, the Ministry of Good samaritan has started relief work to help the community by distributing 25 Kilos of rice and 2 kg of dal (lentils) to each household family. So far, more than 469 families have received food supplies, totaling more than 1,1726 kg of distributed rice and 938 kg of dal. Our initiative aims to make sure the underprivileged don’t go to sleep with a hungry stomach as the team is dedicatedly taking measures to Lockdown Hunger
in the villages! Our Human Development facilitators are actively working at our field program locations and are continuously communicating with people, passing them information about safety measures during this pandemic. Currently, plans are in place till the end of the extended lockdown. Further arrangements will be made as the situation evolves.
With your help, we will ensure that the underprivileged don’t go to sleep hungry. Even in isolation, we can all stand united! So come ahead, join hands with us and donate !
